Darkly colored drinks such as tea, coffee, and red wine also can have adverse effects on the freshness of one’s breath. Other causes of bad breath can include oral or respiratory infections, dry mouth, or diabetes. Red or swollen gums, loose teeth, or sores in the mouth are signs of oral infection or more serious issues and could lead to bad breath. DON’T FEAR YOUR DENTAL HYGIENE

Preventing bad breath can be easier than you think. More regular oral hygiene is a huge step to improving your breath, brushing twice a day make a huge difference. Cleaning your tongue is one of the easiest ways to actively prevent bad breath. Antibacterial mouthwash can help too, the best kind to assist with bad breath is one that contains alcohol. Use caution with mints or gum, the high levels of sugar in these can result in tooth decay over time and can be far more detrimental to your fresh breath in the long run.

A survey into attraction reveals bad breath would be a put-off for 85% of British adults looking for a new partner. The findings also show that they almost unanimously wouldn’t go on a second date with someone if they had bad breath on the first. Masking smelly breath with a mint is only a temporary solution to your problem. Chewing sugar-free gum can help as it increases saliva flow, which helps to clean out your mouth and get rid of bacteria that cause bad breath. Testing if our breath smells can be done quickly and easily. Lick your wrist and let it go dry. If the part of your wrist you licked smells bad, then it is likely our breath does too!
